i have a problem for a few weeks, that my private IP address from my ISP gots blocked by Cloudflare to access devkitpro.org resources

Error 1006 Ray ID: 8590d954db92019a • 2024-02-21 17:53:27 UTC
Access denied
What happened?

The owner of this website (devkitpro.org) has banned your IP address

How can i resolve that?

Thanks

Impossible to say without an IP address to check. Email [email protected] if you're prefer not to say what it is in public.

Unfortunate IP Ban

Hello,

Today I was trying to compile sm64ex-alo for 3DS with devkitARM. This requires installing devkitARM.

Before that, I had to update my system's packages (with quite a bit of troubleshooting) and I was suddenly getting 403 errors from the devkitPro package repository. I checked the website to see if it was down, but it turns out I was IP banned, probably from sending too many requests whilst trying to update my system.

Now, not only could I not update my system (fixed by removing the repository from my pacman conf), I can't install devkitPro packages or access the forum at all on my home IP (I am on a hotspot to access the forums now).

If you're capable, please contact me on Discord (@hri7566) if you need any further information.
If you PM me on the forums, I might respond, but it's out of my way.

(not sure what board this belongs on)

There is very little we can do to investigate without being told what your IP is. Most bans aren't permanent though and are usually expired by the time we look.

Hello there,

I had this block some times on the last month, normally after build two or three Switch homebrew, releasing my WAN IP address and getting a new one solve the problem temporally, but I like to know what trigger the blocking to avoid that and do not create a problem for the next person using the blocked IP address.

Today My initial IP address was: 181 [dot] 237 [dot] 135 [dot] 91

My current IP is: 186 [dot] 121 [dot] 105 [dot] 37

Thanks a lot for your help diagnosing the root cause and a way to avoid the block on fairly use.

Regards from Colombia.

Building switch homebrew will not trigger a ban. Continuously running package updates for no reason will.
