Re: ndstool: Not working properly on Mac OS X 10.5 PPC

Definitely looks like an endianness problem on the extraction functions.

I've recently obtained a macbook for working with the OSX toolchain builds so I'll have a look at this for the next devkitARM release.

Re: Missing standard symbols

Could you supply a minimal project which exhibits these link errors. I'll look at fixing them for the next release.

Re: Dynamic libraries

Which platform are you writing code for?

dynamic libraries tend not to be that useful without an OS layer and multitasking. Generally with a bare metal toolchain like devkitARM you're writing entirely self contained binaries.

Re: usleep

That really depends on what you want to use usleep for.

devkitARM is a bare metal toolchain with no threading so there are very few situations where usleep makes sense. Which platform are you writing code for and what do you need the delay for?

Re: Compiling error

VBA is notorious for this problem - basically the gba.cpp file won't compile with any of the devkitPro toolchains if optimisation is enabled on it. I'm pretty sure it has never worked with any version of devkitPPC - the issue has been reported several times before. I did see a patch somewhere in the...

Re: Problems installing devkitPPC through buildscripts

Sorry, hazards of using a snapshot release for the included binutils I'm afraid. It's on the TODO list to get the source tarballs on SF up to date & use those for the buildscripts instead. In the meantime you can use the binutils tarball currently on SF @ http://downloads.sourceforge.net/devkitpro/b...

Re: examples: compilation success, bad runs

For grit you need freeimage compiled and installed.

Use the release buildscripts, not the ones from CVS.

Re: bin2o problem - reported file size

Looks like there's some issue with alignment in the latest binutils snapshot. What's happening is that the variable generated by bin2s for the file size is being misaligned in the binary when the data is an odd number of bytes. I've corrected for this in the bin2s CVS source, should be available wit...

Re: Error compiling okiwi

Just remove it from the libs list, it's not the sort of thing that should be there in release code anyway. You can just comment out anything that needs that lib to link.

Re: bin2o problem - reported file size

Really you should be using grit to create tile data for the DS/GBA - see http://forums.devkitpro.org/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=17 for some basics. Could you send me a testcase project where you get the problem though? I'd like to see if it's a problem with bin2o or something else in your code. [email protected]<obv...
