Sending MIDI beat clock

Post by delete » Tue Apr 21, 2009 5:36 pm

I got my DSerial Edge working as a MIDI device with a couple of music apps for the DS. Now i'm thinking about writing my own little apps for simple stuff. One of the things i'd like to implement is send MIDI beat clock to other devices. The clock ticks are sent at a rate of 24 ppqn (pulses per quarter note). I was wondering if such a rate could cause any trouble. Thanks.

How does that rate translate to frequency in Hz? I don't think it will be a problem unless it's on the order of tens of kilohertz.

thanks for the answer natrium42. the rate would be 96 x (song bpm) Hz, so i guess there won't be problems unless someone wants to make insane gabber beats :)
