Access to the GBA port in RAW more

Post by josergc » Sat Jan 10, 2009 5:36 am

Hi everybody,

I have got a NDS and I wanted to make some PCBs to plug them in the GBA cart slot. I have been also checking the libnds documentation but I didn't found any method to set up the cart slot in RAW data more or if it is not available, is there any way? Or is it mapped in the main memory and better execute the communications between my NDS and the PCBs accessing to the memory where this slot is mapped? So that, what is the address (starting pointer)?

Best regards,

Hi,

The fact that you are asking how to set 'RAW data mode' indicates you have not done enough research on the NDS/GBA hardware to understand how the interface works. Here are some references you can use to read up:

This document details the entire GBA & NDS hardware, which includes access to the GBA slot (timing, what pins do what, etc): http://nocash.emubase.de/gbatek.htm
This site has more information on making your own carts for the GBA slot: http://www.reinerziegler.de/GBA/gba.htm

hi davr,

These pages ready look as very good pages. That was what I was looking for. I must to admit I am a newbie in the development of this system and I am trying to complete my "development documentation" before to start to work seriously with this great system that is NDS.

Thank you very much for your help!!
