Interfacing with the NDS Slot 2

Hello,

i have recently gotten into NDS homebrew and im interested in writing my own programs and, more specifically, interfacing a DS with other external hardware. id prefer to do this through Slot2 and id like to find more info on how to go about doing this.

to begin with id just like to get an idea on how to do basic stuff, recognising external buttons/lighting LEDs etc etc but my eventual goal would be to get MIDI In/Out ports and basically be something like DSerial.

ive been looking around but im actually finding it quite tricky to get the info i need given that i have only a basic knowledge of programming micro controllers and zero previous NDS homebrew experience.

any help would be ace
