Ad-Hoc connection options...

Post by Sylus101 » Sun Jun 14, 2009 6:04 am

Hello everyone,

From what I know of, liblobby is the only library that supports ad-hoc connections between NDS' machines. What are libnds' developers opinions on this lib?

If those opinions are not favorable, is there another option? (stupid question coming) Can dswifi connect two DS' directly together (without some other wireless internet access signal...)?

I'm seeking the simplest solution for 2 DS communication, no more.

General consensus on liblobby is that it's unreliable and prone to causing issues in other code.

Steve has been promising ad hoc support in dswifi for a a while but he currently has other priorities. Someone did pop up with alleged ad hoc support of some kind recently but Steve looked at the code & found it didn't comply with wifi standards so it's pretty much useless.

Right now it's probably best to operate through an intermediary.

Ah, I see. I don't need it for a current project, but have some ideas in the back of my mind where a simple connection like that would be nice.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that Steve can find time to get around to adding this kind of support.
